Switching Providers
Changing IT companies is easier than you think
We handle the transition, including the awkward conversations with your current provider. Your team keeps working the whole time.
The Transition
What a switch looks like, step by step
Most transitions are complete in about 30 days. Nothing gets turned off until its replacement is in place and working.
- Free assessmentWe review your systems and contract terms so we know exactly what we are taking over and when.
- Notice and credential handoverYou give notice; we send your outgoing provider a clear, professional list of the admin accounts, passwords, licenses, and domain access we need.
- DocumentationWe document every device, account, network setting, vendor, and backup in our own system, and fill the gaps the old provider left.
- Install our tools in parallelMonitoring, security, and backup agents go in alongside the existing ones, so there is no gap in protection.
- Secure the keysAdmin passwords are rotated, old remote-access tools are removed, and MFA is enforced, so only the right people have access.
- Cut over supportYour team gets our phone number, email, and portal, and we start answering tickets on day one.
- 30-day reviewWe walk you through what we found, what we fixed, and the roadmap for the next year.
Common Worries
Questions people ask before switching
Will we have any downtime?
No planned downtime. We run alongside your current setup and only remove old tools after ours are confirmed working. Any change that could interrupt work is scheduled after hours.
What if our current provider won't cooperate?
It is rare, but it happens. You own your accounts and data. We know how to recover admin access through Microsoft, Google, domain registrars, and hardware vendors, with your authorization.
We are still under contract. Can we switch?
We will review your agreement and plan the switch around your notice period and end date, so you are not paying twice longer than needed.
Do we have to replace all of our equipment?
No. We keep what is working and only recommend replacements for gear that is unsupported, unsafe, or failing, with a plan you can budget for.
Is it awkward to tell our current IT company?
We have done this many times. We keep the handover professional and handle the technical details directly with them.
